Winter Williams
ABOUT
Winter (formally known as Ashley C. Williams) is an American film and theater actress known for her award winning, breakout performance in revenge thriller Julia and the cult horror film The Human Centipede (First Sequence). She is also an artist and creator, who finds joy in resourceful DIY projects, providing her with essential creative outlets to inspire both herself and those around her. Growing up in Charlottesville, Virginia, she was exposed to the growing art scene, and given the freedom to develop a passion for acting and the arts at the young age of 12.
She later attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, where she received the highest honor (The Charles Jehlenger Award) and invited to join their Rep Company. After graduating AADA Rep, she frequented the off broadway stages of NYC, including The Ellen Stewart Theater and 59E59, playing lead roles in new and experimental plays. It was her work with Italian director Dario D’Ambrosi that triggered her taste for the deeper aspects of storytelling, and a fascination with the human condition—the psychological and deep-seated impulses that make a human being tick.
Winter is currently in development on two exciting projects; a crime/drama series set against an oil field boom and bust, in the North Dakota Bakken; and a historical drama inspired by the life of 12th century Welsh Warrior Gwenllian ferch Gruffydd, who Winter shares a direct blood line with.
Today, she divides her time between New York and Wisconsin with her two children and filmmaker husband Matthew A. Brown.
